A UK marketplace where readers buy, sell and swap new and second-hand books with each other. Think of it as a bookshop stocked by readers across the UK.

Sellers receive the full price they set. Buyers pay the book price, plus a service fee of 60p + 5% of the book price, plus delivery. For example, a £6.00 book has a 90p service fee; with £2.99 delivery the buyer pays £9.89 and the seller receives £6.00 plus the £2.99 to cover postage. Listing a book is free.

Create a free account, then go to Sell. Add a few photos, the title and author (or type the ISBN and press “Look up”), choose the condition and set your price.

When listing, choose “Swap only” or “Sell or swap”. Swap requests — where you offer one of your books in exchange — are coming in an upcoming update. For posted swaps, each person pays their own postage.

New: brand new and unread. Like New: unread or read once, no marks. Very Good: light wear, no notes. Good: visible wear or a creased spine, all pages intact. Acceptable: well read, may have marks, notes or a loose cover.

Buyers pay by card on Stripe's secure checkout page. Sellers set up payouts once (about 5 minutes with Stripe) and are paid the full book price straight to their bank. Postage is prepaid, so sellers never pay for labels. We never see or store card or bank details.

Sellers must drop off parcels within 3 working days using the prepaid tracked label. If a book doesn’t arrive or is significantly not as described, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we’ll help resolve it, including a refund where appropriate. If a seller can’t send an order, they cancel it and you’re refunded in full automatically.
